Revise Debate Drafts

...great job in class today!! Most groups are coming together well, helping each other out, and putting together a strong argument for your group's argument for or against the Indian Removal Act.

A few things for tonight:

1) As you know I pushed the debate to Thurs/Fri, to give you a little more prep time. Help justify this delay by using this extra time wisely!!

2) Revise role, if necessary. As I said in class, creating a character that actually existed is a GREAT way to show that you're doing a little extra research. Use my links on diigo to help you do this. Consider being a real missionary, a Congressman, a member of Jackson's cabinet, a Cherokee leader, or notable Black Seminole. SEE MY DIIGO PAGE FOR SOURCES!! http://www.diigo.com/list/harrigan/simulation

3) Continue to revise your Opening, Q/A, and Closing texts. For Q/A, start thinking order, and make sure your questions are getting at the strongest or weakest parts of the other groups' arguments. For Opener and Closer, make sure you are providing a intro, summary, and concluding statement that really highlights your Point of View and why it is superior to the other side.

Remember, I'm here after school Tues, Wed, and before school on Wed and Thurs!!

Good Luck!
