Quiz Study Advice –
1. Review
all documents you have in your binder.
2. Create a similar study guide to what
you completed for the Road to the Civil War test. (I am not giving a blank
guide, but you can easily make one).
3. Review key topics, in particular:
Reasons for secession, Fort Sumter, Emancipation Proclamation, Battle of
Gettysburg, Gettysburg Address, facts about the Confederate States of America,
facts about the Union (in particular strengths and weaknesses of both sides),
Massachusetts 54th Regiment.
4. Think about key people, places, dates.
Think about significance of key moments
during the war. While I won’t be asking you about random battles, you know the
ones we looked at closely, so focus on those. (Think Fort Sumter, Antietam,
Gettysburg)
5. Reviewing the larger battle map you created
will help you with big ideas of the war and will review some of the key
battles/events we have studied; however,
I will not be asking you a specific fact found only in that document.
6. I am going to ask you a question about the
2 movies, Glory and Lincoln. While I am not looking for
you to have memorized any specific facts from these two movies, I would
recommend you look over the 2 notes sheets you completed.
If you are not going to be in class on Thursday. you should have already contacted me to schedule another time to take the test. Please come see me if you haven't done so already.
