Map of 1830, Due FRIDAY 11/30

United States Territorial Expansion Map List, 1830

This is a map activity for you to learn and visualize the United States in 1830. You must complete this map with thought and care.  You should be using only fine pens (blue and black) and/or a sharpened pencil. If you have more than 2 mistakes, you will redo with me after school.

Step 1 States and Territories: : Label each state and territory listed below using a black pen or pencil. Make sure you spell the names correctly and if you need more room for the smaller states, you can write the name in the ocean and draw a neat line to the state. Remember, this is as of 1830 so not every state you think of today is part of the United States. You must ONLY include states or territories listed below. This site has the states/territories clearly labeled: http://www.fsmitha.com/h3/map40-na.html

Step 2 Dates: Label each state with the year it became a state. If it is a territory, DO NOT write down any year. Remember this is a map of 1830, so there should be NO dates after 1830 on your map! Look at page 717 in your textbook.
