1. Research you topic online. As we said, google searching, using Wikipedia is ok for this early round of just getting familiar with your topic.
2. Create 3-4 questions that you want to research the answers to.
3. Play with Noodletools. Add at least 1 citation to get some practice of going through the steps.
If you were NOT in class today, your homework is the following. Hopefully, you already checked in with me and have started this list by already e-mailing me with your Top 10 research topics.
1) Sign up with NoodleTools (If you don't have the sheet, you can find it here) 2) if you haven't yet, e-mail me your list of Top 10 topics, which I will e-mail back what topic you have been assigned.
3)do some background research on your topic. I am not expecting you to become an expert, obviously, but I am expecting you to become a bit more familiar with subject, what significance it had/has,etc 4) try and come up with 3-4 questions you legitimately want to get the answers to. These are going to become your research questions that are going to guide your studying of your topic. This weekend you will not start answering them, just figure out what the questions are so that you can hit the ground Monday when we start researching in the library. 4) Play around with NoodleTools. It's a little hard b/c you weren't here today to go through it with us. But, if you feel like you could attempt to add a citation, try it out with a website that you find this weekend. Try to create a citation and see what happens. If you're totally confused, don't worry. We'll review in class on Monday.
