Body Paragraph #1 -- Due Thurs 11/3

For those working on Option 1 (majority of you), you have to turn in a TYPED draft of Body paragraph #1 for Thurs 11/3.  Make sure you use the checklist I passed out in class, also seen below:

o Topic sentence should be your first claim, written in a compelling, strongly phrased sentence Œ
o State your first generalization that proves your claim.
o Starting with a transition, provide 1st  specific piece of evidence that supports your claim. (see pg. 7)
o Properly cite your source. (see pg 8)
o State your second generalization that proves your claim.
o Starting with a transition, provide 2nd   specific piece of evidence that supports your claim. (see pg. 7)
o Properly cite your source. (see pg 8)
o State your third generalization that proves your claim.
o Starting with a transition, provide 3rd  specific piece of evidence that supports your claim. (see pg. 7)
o Properly cite your source. (see pg 8)
o Write a concluding sentence that wraps up this claim. This should be a concluding thought that helps tie the claim back to the thesis.

For those working on Options 2 or 3, please make sure you finish your research and pull together a thinking map for your paper by Thurs 11/3. You should have a body paragraph completed, TYPED, for Fri 11/4.

Please consider stopping by before or after school on Tues, Wed, or Fri to check in with me about your thesis, thinking map, or body paragraph!
